Subjects Taught
Fourth Grade

I would like to start off by introducing myself to you.  My name is Mrs. Daines and  I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I then attended and graduated with my Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona State University.

This is my 22nd year of teaching. This is my first year teaching Fourth Grade. I taught kindergarten for 3 years at Santa Cruz Elementary, first grade for 15 years, second grade for a 1/2 year, and sixth grade for 2 years in Phoenix, Arizona.  This year will be filled with many activities and opportunities for your child to grow academically and socially. I hold high expectations for every student in my class and believe that every student is capable of success.  My goal as a teacher is to treat every student with love and respect while creating a classroom of security and risk taking academically.  It is important that we work together to provide your child with a positive learning experience.

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona with my 2 brothers and 5 sisters.  We loved spending time together, camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.  I lived in Mesa, Arizona until 2003, when I moved to Phoenix, Arizona.  I currently live in Laveen, Arizona with my husband of 22 years and my 6 children: 4 boys and 2 girls. I love to go hiking, swimming, exploring the outdoors, photography, and spending time with my family.  I have several favorite movies.  I enjoy all of the Star Wars movies, The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings movies, Harry Potter movies, and Godzilla movies especially the old ones in black and white.  I love anything Dr. Seuss, he is my favorite children's author.
