(Maricopa) The District is excited to announce that 34 students from Maricopa High School’s Spanish and German classes participated in the Arizona State University’s Foreign Language Fair on February 21, 2017. Students had the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and compete against students from all over the greater Phoenix Valley in the categories of impromptu role play, poster presentations in the second language, recitation and drama plays. .
The results for Spanish students included:
1st place in Spanish L1 Impromptu Role Play

2nd place in Spanish L2 Impromptu Role Play

German Students results included:
1st place in German Novice Recitation

Ms. Moreno commented, "A huge thank you to Ms. Shoup for collaborating with the Foreign Language Department and helping students find resources available at the library" and then looking forward to upcoming events she also stated, “We may have more great news later on.” Congratulations students and best wishes on your future success!
